Super-Savory Grated Tofu
Ingredients
- 1 cup uncooked rice
- 1 10-12oz block super firm tofu
- 1 1/2 tbsp oil
- 4 scallions sliced at an angle
- 1-2 thai chiles thinly sliced
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 tbsp roasted sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp Chinese black vinegar
- 1 tbsp gochugaru (Korean chile flakes)
- 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
- cilantro leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Cook rice
- Make tofu: dry out tofu block, then grate it using large hole grater.
- Heat skillet, add scallions, chiles, garlic.
- Add grated tofu to pan. Cook undisturbed for 2 min, then stir. Cook stirring every 2 min until tofu golden brown in some spots (total 10-14 min).
- In small bowl: whisk together soy sauce, black vinegar, sugar, gochugaru, and sesame oil
- Pour sauce into pan, and cook for 1 min.
- Remove from head and sprinkle sesame seeds
- Serve over cooked rice aznd top with reserved scallion tops and cilantro.
